Questions can range from all aspects of moving. Some examples:

1.) Should I hire a moving company or move everything myself?

This is something you will need to determine yourself. Consider everything you have to move and figure out if you have the ability to move it on your own. If you just need to move one room to an apartment, you can probably do it yourself. If you have a whole house to pack and move, you may want to get some help.

2.) What is the best way to move my Piano?

From what I've read the best way to move a piano from house to house is by hiring professional piano movers. If you are just moving it from room to room in your house, you could probably do it with few friends. But movers are still advised, so you don't encounter any mishaps that could damage your piano.

3.) How should I pack my plates?

Wrap them with lots of packing paper and store them vertically in a well padded box.

4.) How do I pack my television?

If you have the original box and packaging use those. If not, you can find a strong box and packing materials. Wrap your TV with lots of bubble wrap and tape it together. Place it in the box and surround it with padding. Be sure not to put too much pressure against the screen. If your TV is too big for a box, still wrap it up, and store it between soft items like matresses.

5.) How do I find a reputable moving company?

There is no definitive answer on this question.Ask your friends and family for any companies they have used in the past. Make sure to do a good amount of research on the companies you are interested in hiring. Call the company and ask lots of questions about their services. Find out what their insurance liability covers. Check the name of the company with the Better Business Bureau. Look for online reviews.

6.) What is the best way to pack books?

Sort them by size and pack them vertically into small strong boxes. Add padding as needed.

7.) What kind of damage does a moving company's insurance protect me from?

You will have to ask the moving company you are interesed in using. Liability may differ from company to company.

8.) How should I move my pets?

Moving can be a stressful time for your pets as well as yourself. Have pet carriers ready for your pets. Get copies of all of their medical records from the Veterinarian. Have I.D. tags made for them, if they don't have them already. Find out the rules on pets at the place you are moving to. If you are going to have movers in your house, set off a private room to keep your pets. You don't want to add to their stess, and this keeps them out of the way.

9.) I have so much stuff, where should I begin sorting?

That is a tough question. The kitchen is always a good spot. People usually collect a bunch of stuff over the years that they no longer use. So start there and sort everything into piles of stuff you use and stuff you never use. Keep the stuff you use and sell the rest.

10.)When is the best time to have a moving yard sale?

This is up to you and your preference. After you have sorted your stuff into keep and sell piles. You can have multiple yard sales as you sort through your belongings. Or you can have one massive yard sale before you go. Ideally you want to have a sale a couple of weeks before you actually move. This way you have time to donate the yard sale left overs to good will.
